Unfortunately, to play GTA Online on your PlayStation, you need an active PS Plus subscription. PS Plus is required for nearly all online multiplayer games on PlayStation consoles. That being said, keep an eye out for free PS Plus weekends that Sony occasionally offers, during which you can jump into GTA Online without a subscription!
