You just need multiple Switches and games for local battles. Trust me, I've done it tons of times—it works like a charm!

For some good ol' couch co-op in Splatoon 2, grab a couple of Nintendo Switch consoles and connect them to the same local network. Make sure everyone has a copy of the game, and head into Salmon Run or Private Battle mode to splat together! Easy peasy, squid squeezy!

Local multiplayer in Splatoon 2? Unfortunately, there's no split-screen option, but you can still connect multiple Switches locally for private battles.
