Just use Proton, trust me. It's built into your Steam Deck and it's magic for playing Windows games.

To play MW2 on your Steam Deck without Windows, you're going to want to make sure you're using SteamOS, the native operating system for the Deck. SteamOS is based on Linux and fully supports playing a wide range of games directly through the Steam client. You might need to enable Proton for MW2 to run smoothly. Proton is a tool that Valve developed to let you run Windows-only games on Linux-based systems. Just right-click on the game in your Steam library, go to Properties, then Compatibility, and check the box that says 'Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool.' Choose the latest version of Proton and you should be good to go!

Honestly, why bother? Just install Windows on your Steam Deck and enjoy MW2 the way it's meant to be played. No fuss, no muss.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
