Once in the console, use the command 'download_depot' followed by the game's app ID, the depot ID, and the manifest ID you found. It's a bit techy, but it works!

Just stick with the latest version, trust me. Older versions are a nostalgia trip for sure, but the latest Terraria has so much more to offer!
My friend and I wanted to play an older Terraria update to relive our college days. It took some digging, but using the Steam console to download a specific version's depot really worked.
