Unfortunately, you can't play PS3 game discs directly on your PS4. It's not backward compatible with physical PS3 games. Your best bet is to look for PS3 titles available on the PlayStation Store or sign up for PlayStation Now to stream them!

I tried it myself, and nope, PS3 game discs won't work on a PS4. I had to subscribe to PlayStation Now to get my fix of old-school PS3 games. It's a solid workaround!
