You'll need an HDMI capture card or USB video capture device. Connect the PS3 HDMI to the capture card, then use software like OBS to display it on your laptop.

Honestly, you can't just use the HDMI port on your laptop for input. Invest in an external capture card; it's the only way.

I've done it! Got a capture card, connected PS3 to it, and saw the game on my laptop via OBS software. Works like a charm!

Most laptop HDMI ports are output-only, so you can鈥檛 directly play PS3 on a laptop screen. You could try using an HDMI capture card to connect them.
