Ranked battles with friends? Haha, nice try! You have to use League Battle for that. Nintendo logic, am I right?

Easy peasy! First, make sure you and your friends are all in the same lobby. Then, select 'League Battle' instead of 'Ranked Battle' on the matchmaking screen. Voila! You'll be squidding around with your pals in no time.

You can't play Ranked matches directly with friends. Instead, create a League Battle team! You need 2-4 players. Just go to the Ranked Battle menu and select League Battle.

From experience, gather your friends and choose League Battle in the lobby. It's set up that way, so you can't directly do Ranked Battles together, but League Battle is pretty close and just as fun!
