You can't play ranked with friends directly. Get to Rank B- first and then play League Battles together!

To play ranked with your buddies in Splatoon 2, you'll need to squad up in League Battle. Once you hit Rank B- in any mode, you can unlock League Battle, invite your friends, and splat away together!
