How to play split screen Fortnite on PS4
Easy peasy! Sign in to your main account and start Fortnite. While in the lobby, turn on a second controller, sign in to another account, and press 'X' to join the game.

I've done this a ton! Just get your main player into the lobby, then use the second controller to sign in. Once both players are signed in, the second player can press 'X' to join the lobby. Super simple!
Make sure you both have PSN accounts. Launch Fortnite, go to the menu, and the second player can join by pressing and holding 'X' on their controller.
Hot take: Split-screen on PS4 isn't worth it. Play on separate consoles if you can.
