Sadly, State of Decay 2 doesn't officially support Windows 8. But if you upgrade to Windows 10, you should be good to go!

Tried it on my old Windows 8 machine, it was a no-go. Upgraded to Windows 10, and it runs great now!

You might want to try running the game in compatibility mode for Windows 7, but I can't guarantee it will work perfectly.
