If you're playing on a Nintendo Switch, try Super Mario 3D All-Stars. You can take turns or just pass the controller whenever someone (inevitably) falls off a platform!

Super Mario 64 doesn鈥檛 have a built-in two-player mode. Try hacks or mods if you鈥檙e desperate.

While Super Mario 64 doesn't have an official 2-player mode, you can try the fan-made mod 'Super Mario 64 Multiplayer' where you can control both Mario and Luigi on the same screen. It's a bit of a workaround but a lot of fun!

Me and my buddy played by just passing the controller every time we collected a star. Simple, old-school fun!
