Just set your resolution to 16:9 in the game settings and your monitor should automatically adjust with black bars. Sure, it's not using the ultrawide to its full potential, but Valorant's gameplay is worth the compromise. Plus, it keeps the competition fair for everyone. Game on!
I've tried all sorts of settings on my ultrawide monitor, hoping for a workaround, but no dice. The game forces you into a 16:9 aspect ratio to keep things fair, which makes sense from a competitive standpoint. Still, playing Valorant even with black bars is better than not playing at all!
Unfortunately, Valorant doesn't officially support ultrawide resolutions because it can give players an unfair advantage by seeing more of the map. However, you can still play the game; it'll just add black bars on the sides to maintain the aspect ratio. So, despite your fancy monitor, you'll be playing with a standard view. Not the news we wanted, but hey, at least we can still enjoy those sweet, sweet headshots.
