On Tetris 99: Both you and your friends need the game and a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. You can then create a room and share the code to join.
To play Tetris Battle with friends, you first need to download a version of Tetris that offers multiplayer mode, like Tetris Blitz or Tetris 99. Then you can either invite your friends via their gamer tags or join the same room code.
Find a version of Tetris that supports multiplayer like Tetr.io or Puyo Puyo Tetris, create a private lobby, and invite your friends. Simple as pie.
