I once used a tiny floor blueprint to glitch it out. It worked perfectly! Just place it right over the axe.
Why push them out when you can just buy a new one? They're not that expensive if you have enough money.
Have you tried using another piece of wood to push the axe out? Works like a charm for me.
Just use the 'move' option on your blueprint, then place it on the axe, and move it around until the axe pops out.
