In the Steam app, go to the bottom left corner, there’s a ‘+ Add a Game’ button. Click it, then 'Activate a Product on Steam.' Punch in your code, and you’re golden!

Just buy games without codes, way easier. :P
Had to do this last week. Seriously, it's a breeze. Open Steam, 'Games' menu, 'Activate a Product on Steam,' and the rest is just copy-pasting the code. Worked like a charm for me!
Easy peasy! Just fire up your Steam client and click on 'Games' at the top of the page. From there, select 'Activate a Product on Steam...' and follow the on-screen instructions. You'll enter your code, click 'Next,' and boom, your game or whatever else the code was for is all yours!
