Customizing your Hot Wheels cars with new wheels is all about the right tools and patience! First, you need to drill out the rivets carefully that hold the car together. A pin vise with a small drill bit does the trick. Once it's open, gently remove the original wheels. To install new wheels, you'll need to buy some aftermarket wheels designed for 1:64 scale models. Simply slide them onto the existing axles or replace the axles if necessary. Glue might help if they're loose, but be sparing. Finally, reassemble the car by snapping the base back on or securing it with small screws.

Just buy ones with cool wheels already on them. Save yourself the headache.

Did it once, not easy but worth it. After popping the car open (thank YouTube for how-to videos), switching the wheels was actually fun. Felt like a mini mechanic. Just make sure the new wheels fit the axles, or you'll be shopping for those next.
