To put your Xbox Series S into rest mode, head to Settings > General > Power mode & startup, then select 'Instant-on' mode. Boom, done!

Turn off the console and it'll kinda stay in rest mode. Not sure why anyone needs more than that.

I've been using the Xbox Series S since launch—just go to Settings, choose Power mode & startup under General, and pick 'Instant-on' mode. Easy peasy!
