I made my account private by setting everything to Friends Only. Took me 5 minutes and now lurkers can't see my stuff!
Easiest way: Hit the little down arrow in the top-right, click Settings & Privacy > Settings > Privacy, and choose your preferred options.
Dude, just make everything 'Friends Only' or 'Only Me' in Privacy Settings!
