Reading it is like a chemistry treasure map! Find the element's symbol, then check the atomic number (protons) on top, and atomic mass below. Group number tells you similar properties.
Start with the element's symbol, which is usually one or two letters. Above it, you'll see the atomic number, which tells you the number of protons in the nucleus. Below the symbol, you'll find the atomic mass, which is the average mass of all the element's isotopes!
