Forget it, Windows can't read PS3 hard drives natively. Better option? Just back up your data on the PS3 itself.
You can read a PS3 hard drive on PC by using a SATA-to-USB adapter, but remember it's formatted in a way that Windows can't natively read it. So, you'll need software like 'Linux Reader' or 'Ext2Fsd' to access the files.
I tried this a while ago. Used a SATA-to-USB adapter and 'Paragon ExtFS' software. Worked like a charm!
