Simple! Just hold down the power button on the PS3 console for about 10 seconds until it beeps twice. This will restart it.

Honestly, just unplugging it and plugging it back in works like a charm. Old-school but effective.

You can also reboot the PS3 by going to the XMB (main menu) > Settings > System Settings > System Restart. Easy peasy!
