How to receive gifts on Steam
ReplyingTheft路7 months agoHonestly, just tell your friends to send you Steam gift cards instead. Games are great and all, but gift cards let you choose exactly what you want. Plus, you don't have to worry about already owning the game.

It's all about friendship! Make sure the person sending the gift has you on their Steam friends list. They buy the game, select 'Purchase as a gift', choose your name, and bam! You get a shiny notification that you've got a new game to add to your always growing collection. Just hit 'accept', and it's game time.
Receiving gifts on Steam is pretty straightforward. Firstly, you've got to have a Steam account. If someone decides to gift you a game, they'll purchase it as a gift on Steam and then choose to send it to you either directly through Steam using your Steam username or to your email address. If they send it to your Steam account, you'll get a notification in Steam and you can accept the gift directly. If it's sent to your email, you'll get a link. Click on it, log in to Steam, and accept the gift. Remember, you need to be friends on Steam if they're sending it directly through the platform.
Getting a game gift on Steam is cool, but it's way less straightforward than it should be. You've got this whole dance of accepting the gift and sometimes it just doesn't work right. I miss the days of just swapping game discs.
