Honestly, your best bet is to stick with the built-in replay system. No need to overcomplicate things with extra software.
Use OBS Studio for recording. It's free and easy to set up. I always use it for my War Thunder sessions, and it works like a charm.
Just use the built-in replay feature. Hit 'Esc' during a battle, go to the replay menu, and voila!
