Actually, just use the Steam Overlay for screenshots (F12) and get a separate app for video. Steam's not really about recording.

Recording your screen on Steam itself isn't directly possible since Steam doesn't have a built-in feature for screen recording. But, no worries! You can use third-party software like OBS Studio or Nvidia's ShadowPlay if you have a GeForce graphics card. Both are great for capturing your epic gaming moments or creating tutorials. OBS is free and works with any game, while ShadowPlay offers seamless integration for Nvidia users with minimal performance impact.

Personal XP here: Tried using OBS to record my Steam gameplay since Steam doesn't do screen recording natively. It's a solid choice and free! Pretty easy to set up and you can stream directly if that's your thing too.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
