Check your Google Drive or iCloud backup! Restore from the most recent backup file to recover your chats.
RIP deleted chats if you didn't back them up. Lesson learned? Enable auto-backup for next time!
Personal experience: I managed to get my chats back by uninstalling and reinstalling WhatsApp. During setup, it asked to restore from a backup.
