How to refund a Steam gift?
Sorry but nope, you can't directly refund a gift you've sent to someone else on Steam. The receiver of the gift has to be the one asking for the refund through their Steam Support. They better not have played more than 2 hours and it has to be within the two-week purchase window!

Actually, I've been through this. My friend sent me a game I already had, so I requested a refund. Super easy, just went through my Steam Support and clicked a few buttons. Got the refund, and my friend was relieved. Just make sure it's within 14 days and under 2 hours of playtime!
Refunding a Steam gift is pretty straightforward, but you gotta make sure a few things line up first. The person who received the gift has to initiate the refund by going to their Steam Support, finding the game, and selecting 'It's not what I expected' > 'I'd like to request a refund'. Remember, the standard refund rules apply: the request must be made within 14 days of purchase, and the game can't have been played for more than 2 hours!
