Actually, it's not always that easy. Sometimes Steam can be a bit finicky with refunds, especially if the gift has been in the inventory for a while.

Refunding a gift on Steam is pretty straightforward, but remember both the sender and receiver have a role in it. First up, the person who received the gift must not redeem it. Instead, they should initiate the refund by going to their Steam Support, selecting the gift, and choosing 'I want to request a refund'. After this, an email will be sent to the gift sender, who then also has to go to Steam Support to approve the refund. Boom! Money back in the original purchaser鈥檚 account, and the transaction is as if it never happened!

Simple: don't redeem, hit refund. Sender gets an email, approves it, and you're done. Steam makes it easy as pie.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
