You can release a goldfish in BitLife by going to your Assets, selecting Pets, and then choosing the goldfish you want to set free. There's an option to release it back into the wild!

Just go to the Pets section under your Assets tab, select your goldfish, and choose 'Release.' Easy peasy!

Release option is right in the pet's menu. Just click on the goldfish and hit 'Release.' Done.
