Easy peasy! To release a car from a tow truck in GTA 5 on PS4, just press and hold the right d-pad (directional pad). Your vehicle will be smoothly dropped off the tow truck, ready for more chaotic adventures in Los Santos. Drive safe, or not, it's GTA after all!

Honestly, just ditch the tow truck and grab a chopper. Way more fun and you don't have to worry about pesky things like 'releasing cars'.
