Getting rid of an NPC from a house in Terraria is pretty simple! Just go to the Housing menu by clicking the house icon above your armor slots. Then click on the NPC's banner you wanna boot out and click the house you want to move them to. If you just wanna evict them into the wild, just remove the suitable housing conditions from their current residence, like breaking the chair or crafting table. They'll be forced to move out and find a new place to call home.

Kill them. It sounds harsh, but it's the fastest way. Don't worry; they respawn after a day if the housing conditions are still met. Think of it as a temporary eviction.

Just move their banner to a different house from the housing interface. It's like telling them 'Your lease is up!' without the paperwork.
