To get rid of that pesky dirt background in Terraria, you're gonna need a hammer! Any hammer will do. Just start swinging it at the background blocks you want to remove. Remember, you can only start removing background walls from the edge, either from an already existing gap or the world's edge. Happy hammering!
Use a hammer, but start from the edges. Can't just smack it in the middle and expect it to work!
