If you want your Pokemon back, you have to wait for it to be knocked out by another team. Simple as that.
Listen, I've tried everything, but you just have to wait until someone else battles your Pokemon out of the gym!
I always feed my Pokemon berries to keep them happy and in the gym longer, but there's no way to recall them manually.
