Hot take: You can't actually remove it. Just swap it for something super plain, like a solid color image.
You can't directly remove your profile picture on TikTok, but you can replace it with a default or blank image. Just upload a plain image from your gallery!
From personal experience, I just uploaded a blank white image, and it worked perfectly as if I'd removed my profile pic.
