How to Remove Surname in Facebook
You can't entirely remove your surname on Facebook, but you can use just one name if you're specific about filling out your 'Mononym' request form for single name accounts. Try to request it through the Facebook help center!

Facebook doesn't allow you to remove your surname, sorry! You could use an initial or nickname instead.
Technically, Facebook requires both a first and last name. But here's a trick: Change your language settings to Tamil, then edit your name and save it with just the first name. It should work!
As someone who's done this, switch your language to Indonesian, edit your name to just keep the first name, and switch it back to your original language. Worked like magic for me!
