I’ve done this before! Use a small Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws on the back of the controller. Carefully pry the halves apart, making sure not to damage any internal wiring. Disconnect the ribbon cable that attaches to the touchpad and gently remove it. Reassemble everything once the touchpad is out.
