You probably shouldn't remove the touchpad; it can void your warranty. If it's broken, consider getting a replacement controller instead.

Hey there! To remove the touchpad on the PS5 controller, you'll need a precision screwdriver set. Start by unscrewing the back plate, then gently disconnect the ribbon cable connected to the touchpad. Carefully lift the touchpad out. Boom, done!

I鈥檝e done this before! Use a small Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws on the back of the controller. Carefully pry the halves apart, making sure not to damage any internal wiring. Disconnect the ribbon cable that attaches to the touchpad and gently remove it. Reassemble everything once the touchpad is out.

Why even bother? Just leave the touchpad alone and play the games!

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
