Sorry to burst your bubble, but you can't directly rename Dogmeat in Fallout 4. However, if you're on PC, there's a workaround with console commands. Press the tilde key (~) to open the console, click on Dogmeat to select him, and then type 'setactorfullname "new name"' without the quotes and with your desired name where "new name" is. Keep in mind, though, this might cause some glitches or affect your game, so use it at your own risk!
