I had the same problem, and wrapping my 360 in a towel for about 15 minutes did the trick. No joke! But if you go this route, make sure to watch it closely to avoid overheating!

First, unplug everything and let it cool down for a bit. Overheating can sometimes cause that dreaded red ring! If that doesn’t do the trick, try removing and then reconnecting the hard drive. Lastly, check online for guides on opening the console and reapplying thermal paste. Just be careful – voiding the warranty is a risk!

Honestly, it’s best to send it in to Microsoft for repair. Trying DIY fixes can often make things worse.

If you're a Xbox player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Xbox gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
