Honestly, it might be time to consider a new console if DIY fixes aren't working. With all the new games and features, it could be worth the upgrade.

First, give your Xbox 360 a power cycle: turn it off, unplug everything, wait a minute, plug it all back in, and turn it on. If that doesn鈥檛 work, try cleaning the disc drive lens with a lens cleaning disc or some compressed air. Still no luck? You might need to take it apart and check for loose or broken connections, but that鈥檚 for the brave souls out there!

I fixed mine by opening it up and cleaning the laser lens carefully with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab. If you're comfortable with a bit of DIY, this might save you a bundle!

Forget the rest, the best way is to contact Microsoft support and have the pros take a look. Less stress, more gaming.

Tap the top of the Xbox 360 when inserting a disc. Sounds crazy, but it worked for me! Just a gentle tap usually does the trick.

If you're a Xbox player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Xbox gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
