How to Replace Hard Drive in PS3 Slim
First, back up your data to avoid any loss. Then, power off the PS3 Slim and unplug all cables. Locate the hard drive cover on the side, usually secured by a screw, and remove it. Pull out the old hard drive using the metal handle, unscrew it from the caddy, and replace it with the new one. Slide the new hard drive back into the PS3, secure it with screws, and replace the cover. Power on the console and follow the on-screen instructions to format the new drive. Easy peasy!

I've done this a bunch. Make sure to backup your data! Then take off the plastic cover on the right side of the PS3 slim, unscrew the blue screw, pull out the caddy with the hard drive, swap the old drive with the new one, and put everything back. Boot up and follow the instructions to format the new drive.
Don't worry about it. Just swap the drive, boot up, and follow the prompts. Too easy to mess up.
