Make sure to power off your PS4 and unplug the controller before you start. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to open the controller. Carefully unplug the old battery and connect the new one. Reassemble and test it out. Simple as that!
I did this last week! Just open the controller with a Phillips screwdriver, swap out the old battery with the new one, and you're all set. Easy peasy!
