How to Reset Game Files on Steam
ComposingGuru路7 months agoEasy peasy! Just right-click the game in Steam's library > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files. It'll check and replace any missing or corrupted files. If you want a full reset, you can also choose 'Delete Local Game Content' and then reinstall the game. Remember, this doesn't delete your save files unless the game stores them in the install directory!

I had a game glitch so bad once, nothing worked. But then, I verified the game files like the first step says, and it was like magic. Fixed everything without a full reinstall. Highly recommend trying it before nuking everything!
Just delete and reinstall the game, duh. Sometimes it's faster than waiting for Steam to figure out what's wrong.
If you're really in a jam and verifying files or reinstalling doesn't cut it, check online for game-specific guides. Some games have funky file setups and might need a manual nudge to reset everything.
