Hold down the reset button on the back of the PS3 controller for 10 seconds using a paper clip, then connect it to your PC via USB. This should help your PC recognize the controller again.

If your controller isn't connecting, try using a different USB cable. Sometimes it's just a bad cable causing the issue!

No need to reset. Just install the SCP Toolkit, and it will handle everything for you.

I had success by holding the reset button, then reconnecting the controller to my PC while holding the PS button. Worked like a charm!
