Turn it off and on again! Power cycle your Xbox by holding the power button for 10 seconds, turning it back on, and loading Fortnite.
Been there! Sometimes just restarting the Xbox itself helps. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for about 10 seconds, let it turn off, and then restart it.
