First up, gotta make sure you had Island Backup enabled on your old Switch. Once that's set, on your new Switch, during the initial setup of Animal Crossing, choose the 'I want to transfer my island' option. Tom Nook will guide you through the rest. Remember, though, only the primary player (island rep) can initiate this.

No backup, no cry? Maybe, but if you didn't enable the Island Backup feature on your old Switch, you're kinda outta luck. Nintendo's pretty strict on this for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Time to make new memories!

If your Animal Crossing island was the pinnacle of perfection, fear not! Just hop into the settings on the title screen, and hit up the 'Island Backup' option. The key here is to have had that backup function turned on beforehand on your old device. If not, it might be time to channel your inner architect and start afresh - a new island, a new adventure!

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
