From personal experience, open the War Thunder launcher, hit the gear icon, and under the 'Rendering Engine' option, choose DirectX 9. Worked like a charm for me!

They haven't optimized the game for DX9 in a while; you might wanna stick with newer DirectX versions. Just my two cents.
