Hot take: Ark's auto-save system is a blessing and a curse. Just make sure you know when it's gonna save. Better to be safe than sorry!

If you're playing on a single-player or non-dedicated server, the game saves automatically when you leave. For dedicated servers, the admin can use the command 'admincheat saveworld' to force a save.

I learned the hard way... Always exit through the menu! Powering off the PS4 or closing the game without doing this may result in lost progress. Trust me, it's not fun rebuilding a lost base.

Saving in Ark on PS4 is pretty simple! Just access the in-game menu and select 'Exit to Main Menu' or 'Exit to Desktop,' which will automatically save your progress.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
