Story mode saves automatically. So, if you see the saving icon at the bottom of the screen, you're good to go!

The game autosaves after each fight or decision, so no need to stress! You can also manually save through the pause menu by pressing the Options button.

I’ve played through the Story mode a few times. Don't worry, it's autosaving after each chapter, fight, and major event. Just keep an eye out for the saving icon.
