Saving in GTA 5 is super easy! Just head to your safe house and walk over to your bed. You'll see a prompt to sleep, and doing so will save your game. If you're out and about and can't make it back to a safe house, you can also use your in-game phone to quick save. Just open up the menu, navigate to the 'Quick Save' option, and boom - game saved!
Don't forget autosave! GTA 5 autosaves after most missions, so if you're just cruising through the storyline, you're probably covered without even trying. But yeah, for those strategic saves, safe houses and quick save are the way to go.
