On iPhone, open the chat, click on the photo, tap the share icon and then 'Save Image'. Easy peasy!
On Android, open the chat with the photo, tap the photo, then tap the download icon. Done! Automatically saves to your gallery.
Just screenshot it! Sometimes a quick screenshot is the fastest way to save a photo.
Every time I want to save a photo on WhatsApp, I just tap on the photo, hit the download button, and it goes right to my gallery, no fuss.
