Why so complicated? Just use the built-in recorder in your phone settings. Quick and simple.
For iPhone, just swipe down from the top right to open Control Center, tap the screen record button, and voila! For Android, pull down the Quick Settings, tap screen record, and you're all set!
I screen record on my iPhone by adding the recording button to my Control Center from settings, then I just swipe down and hit record.
As an Android user, I just find the screen record option in the Quick Settings menu, tap it, and start recording. Easy peasy!
